NZ Sotheby's International Realty sponsored the Whaka 50km event for the first time. We spoke to Sales Associate, Brendan Ryan, who also raced in the Whaka100, to find out how the day went overall.
Josie Wilcox won the Whaka100 with a time of 5h 53m 32s. She smashed the course record she set last year by almost 20 minutes. We caught up with Josie to find out more about her second win.
Tim Rush from Oamaru, won the Whaka100 with a course record time of 05:10:56 which was 11 minutes faster than the previous record held by Edwin Crossling.
Rush has been riding for 8 years, and heard about the Whaka100 through his boss who mentioned it would be a good race to take on. We caught up with Tim Rush to find out more about his win. Course records have been broken as top mountain bikers took on the Whaka100 Mountain Bike Marathon presented by CamelBak at the Whakarewarewa forest on Sunday.
Day one of Whaka100 weekend was a success with the Rotorua Isuzu Shoot Out taking place at the Whakarewarewa forest in Rotorua today.
Former All Black Carlos Spencer will be racing in the Whaka100 MTB Marathon presented by CamelBak on October 21st in the Whakarewarewa Forest, Rotorua.
